Så tycker publiken om Marvels "Shang-Chi"

I USA råder fortfarande strikta restriktioner, och Delta-variantens uppgång har gjort Hollywood nervösa. Men, "the show must go on" och Marvel Studios förbereder just nu den stora premiären av sin nästa superhjälteaction, "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings".

Filmen kommer introducera publiken för en ny hjälte i MCU, asiatiske kampsportsmästaren Shang-Chi (spelad av Simu Liu) som måste konfrontera skurken The Mandarin och hans ljusskygga terror-organisation.

 

 

I veckan bjöds amerikanska fans och journalister in till de första visningarna, och de första reaktionerna tyder på en underhållande actionfilm som "inte liknar något annat från Marvel". En del har lämnat ganska ljumna kommentarer medan andra kallar filmen för "fenomenal" och "årets bästa superhjältefilm".

"Shang-Chi" kan verkligen behöva en injektion av god "word of mouth", då snacket i filmvärlden är relativt lågt. Att lansera en relativt okänd karaktär mitt under pågående pandemi kommer inte bli lätt för Marvel - i början av september får vi iallafall själva se om filmen håller måttet.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings earns the title of the best superhero film of 2021 so far. The action scenes are simply spectacular, especially the train & skyscraper scene. Expected a simple father/son conflict narrative and it's so much bigger than that. #ShangChi is a beautiful story about family, loss, and how our grief can blind and destroy us.

#ShangChi is such a personal, family story at its core. That’s when it’s at its best.

The third act is full of surprises but sometimes is a little crazier than is needed. Ultimately delivers epic action and the intimate moments to land. Big MCU stuff.

There are nits to be picked, but #ShangChi is a terrifically entertaining piece of blockbuster filmmaking. It's much better than the trailers (lots of goodies unspoiled) and is unafraid to be weird and fantastical.
