Jag blir så glad. Ett samarbete mellan Mann och Depp vore en dröm. Manns fantastiska regi och Depps fenomenala skådespel... Man kan nästan se det framför sig. Jag hoppas verkligen att det här projektet blir av och att förhandlingarna går som de ska.
Ja, nu är det ju klart att Public Enemies blir hans nästa film (kolla den nystartade tråden på Kommande Filmer) men idag hittade jag också en ny reklamfilm regisserad av Mann:

Det står även att Mann "intends to make a gritty, low-budget film". Very cool. Mycket intressant projekt för Mann, jag diggar det. Det står i artikeln att Mann länge velat göra en film om Capa men jag vet att han även försökt få igång en filmatisering av Hemingways For Whom The Bell Tolls (även det Spanska inbördeskriget), så det är ju trevligt att han hittat en ingång till ämnet. Hoppas verkligen att det här blir av nu.

Det är bara att hålla tummarna stenhårt... Kommer nu hålla ett vakande öga över detta projekt fram tills den färdiga produkten som med alla sannolikhet kommer bli alldeles alldeles underbar :)
Hoppas de visar hela hans liv, och inte bara fokuserar på inbördeskriget. Då skulle vi få med Invasionen av Normandie och de bitarna också.

Jag gillar Michael Mann, men ett probelm som jag kan tycka återvänder i hans filmer är bristet på djup i vissa (bara vissa) karaktärer. Hans filmer som utspelar sig innan 1950 har nästan alltid samma sorts män osv, vilket kan kännas lite platt. Detta ser vi i till exempel Public Enemies, där flera karaktärer känns exakt likadana, den typiska mannen från back in the day. Förutom John Dillinger, såklart.
